Behind every product at Camelot Fabrics is a team of people who bring their own experience, personality, and passion to what they do. In this edition of our Meet the Team series, we’re getting to know Philip, our VP of Sales, a little better.

From traveling the world and building connections to developing a passion for daily growth, Philip brings plenty of energy, curiosity, and personality to his role at Camelot. Here are a few things you might not know about him.

Describe your role.

VP of Sales is my official title. I oversee the sales of the entire company and am very much involved in the day-to-day operations of the business.

What is your favourite memory working at Camelot?

Our EPIC holiday parties and the surprise milestone birthday parties that were made for me.

What’s one thing that inspires you?

It’s hard to pinpoint, as many things inspire me. I am inspired by discipline, both my own and others. Being disciplined, I strive for daily growth, both professionally and personally.

What’s the best lesson you’ve learned throughout your career?

Listen more than I talk, which is extremely hard for me. People will always reveal what they want through their words or body language.

What is something people might be surprised to learn about you?

As extroverted and “off the wall” as I am, I was a very shy kid.

If you could instantly master any superpower, what would it be?

Master Excel spreadsheets! Anyone who knows me well understands that my auditory memory far outweighs my ability to sit at a desk and absorb information from spreadsheets. I have boundless energy, and sitting still for long periods of time is simply not who I am. AI has become a close friend of mine.

What do you enjoy most about your work?

Traveling and meeting new friends and colleagues across the world. I love that our industry feels like a community. I enjoy seeing everyone at the trade shows.

Which Camelot collection or product stands out to you and why?

Our quilting cottons. We strive to have the best designs and quality in the industry.

And while Excel spreadsheets may not be his favourite way to spend an afternoon, we’re glad AI has become a close friend along the way!
